Iron Man 3 has released a first official on-set image featuring Tony Stark’s collection of Iron Man suits, now numbering seven in total. He’s going to need some more wardrobe space…
Each and every edition of Iron Man’s armour is present and correct, including the Mach-1 suit he used to blast out of that cave back in the first movie. With a lick of paint, it’s looking nearly as good as new.
As first images go, it’s not exactly one to set tongues wagging, but for fans of the franchise, its nice to see Tony Stark back in centre stage. The suits will also be significant this time out, with the newly nanotech-equipped armour rendering Tony vulnerable to the Extremis virus.
The man behind that will be Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian, working in league with Ben Kingsley’s secondary villain, thought to be The Mandarin. Those two will be joined by a supporting cast groaning with talent, including Rebecca Hall, Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, James Badge Dale, Ashley Hamilton and Jon Favreau.
Iron Man 3 opens in the UK on 3 May 2013. If you’re suffering from Avengers withdrawal, there’s less than a year to go…
