Science fiction novelists Peter F Hamilton and Paul Cornell (also famous for his screen and comics writing) will be at the SFX Weekender in February!
As the pace picks up for the next SFX Weekender – just five months to go now! – we’re very proud to announce the return of two fantastic authors. Both Peter F Hamilton and Paul Cornell were with us for the very first SFX Weekender and now, as we approach the third event, they’re joining us again.
Peter F Hamilton (above, right) is the king of the space opera and Britain’s biggest SF author. We recently ran a cover design competition based around his upcoming collection of stories, Manhattan In Reverse , but his pedigree goes back to the 1990s when he took the publishing world by storm with his Greg Mandel books. Most recently we’ve been thrilled by his Void trilogy, set in the same universe as his earlier Commonwealth series but over 1,000 years later on. Find out more about him at Facebook.com/PeterFHamilton .
Pictured on the left, above, Paul Cornell ‘s first novel for Tor will be out next year! But SFX readers will be very familiar with his work – not least because we once wrote a column for the magazine. A much-loved comics writer (his Stormwatch and Demon Knights are out this month from DC), he is also well known for his TV script work on Doctor Who and Primeval . Paul currently contributes to the SF Squeecast podcast alongside other authors such as Seanan McGuire and blogs at www.paulcornell.com .
These two top authors will be on hand for signings, Q&A sessions and panels throughout the weekend, and they’ll be in good company: the Weekender already boasts a line-up that includes actors , writers and comic creators . It takes place in Prestatyn, North Wales, on Friday 3 February and Saturday 4 February 2012, with our pre-party on Thursday 2 February for the early birds. VIP tickets are already going fast, but there are many other options available. Make sure you get yours by calling 08700 11 00 34, or head to www.sfxweekender.com/tickets for more information.
