Putting DICE’s Frostbite Engine 2 through its paces, the demo included intensely chaotic tank battles, and air strike sequences wherein the player physically moves from their tank perspective to a satellite monitor in order to target and destroy an enemy compound. Other highlights include BF3’s extremely large maps, large scale battles and extremely pretty scenes of mass destruction. For a better glimpse at how BF3 will play out, check outthe BF3 media on EA’s newly launched website, www.origin.com.
Over and above the demo, Bach revealed BF3’s will launch with BattleLog %26ndash; a completely free service which will allow players to %26ldquo;squad up%26rdquo; with friends, engage in voice chat, track stats and even personalize their own dog tags. It’s not exactly revolutionary, but the whole ‘free’ part should be a lure for fans.
Battlefield 3 will arrive in stores a mere two weeks before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Let the battle for hard earned disposable income begin!
