Assassins Creed Revelations revealed at last

We all knew there was going to be another Assassin’s Creed game coming this year – we’ve been seeing teases of it for the past few days, if nothing else – but today, publisher Ubisoft finally let us in on its plans. Set to release this November on PS3, 360 and PC, Assassin’s Creed Revelations once again focuses onEzio Auditore, this time as he travels to Constantinople (nowIstanbul (opens in new tab)) to follow in the footsteps of his ancestor, Altair – and, of course, tokill a lot of Templars.

Above: It also appears to feature a hidden-blade variation called the Hookblade

Revelations – which Ubisoft describes as “the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy” – will feature “revolutionary gameplay” (according to its press release) that will enable players “to manipulate the construct of Desmond’s memories and the Animus to decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future.” We’re not sure what that actually means, but so long as it helps us make sense of what the hell happened at the end of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, we’re eager to learn more.

Revelations also promises a beefed-up version of Brotherhood’s excellent multiplayer, with new maps, modes and characters. As we did with Brotherhood (which was revealedexactly one year ago today (opens in new tab)as leaked box art), we’ll expect to see a lot more of this one at E3 next month. In the meantime, you should maybe think about finding all of Brotherhood’sflags, feathers,Clusters andtreasure chests, just so you’re up to date.
