Destinys Crimson Days event now live, special emotes on sale

Destiny (opens in new tab)’s February update is now live on PlayStation and Xbox, bringing with it the Crimson Days (opens in new tab) event. Crimson Days is the Destiny universe equivalent of Valentine’s Day, and as such you’ll notice the Tower covered in banners of red, with roses littering the ground on which you tread.

That’s not all that’s different in Bungie’s shooter this week, though. A special Crucible mode dubbed Crimson Doubles is also available, and as you might surmise from its name, it pits teams of two against one another. Impress your significant other by slaughtering another couple for their amusement! You’ll get something out of it too – complete Lord Shaxx’s quest and you’ll earn a Crimson Days emblem, and by participating in the Crimson Doubles playlist before February 16, you could win yourself a new shader and/or Ghost shell. I’m partial to the one that makes your Ghost look like chocolate, but it’s been a long day and I’m hungry.

There are also new emotes being sold at the Eververse Trading Company: Strange Dance, which is a recreation of Drake’s uh … movements … from the “Hotline Bling” music video; Awkward Dance, which is the dance from Napoleon Dynamite; Secret Greeting, a special handshake emote meant to be performed with a teammate; Fist Bump, which is pretty self-explanatory I think; and Charmed, which will make your Guardian swoon with love. All but the Charmed emote cost 500 Silver, and you can see the new emotes in a video from YouTube channel Arekkz Gaming below:

And now, a song, in honor of Destiny’s best new dance emote:

You used to call me on my cell phone / Late night when you need one more / Call me on my cell phone / Titan that you’re asking for / It’s time to fight the Taken King / Double-checking on my ping / Taking down the Taken King / Now the Raid is in full swing
