Remember all the stuff that comes in the Gears of War 4 (opens in new tab) Season Pass? Now there’s more of it. The pass will include 17 total booster packs on top of the 24 new maps, “Vintage VIP” gear pack, and the early-access Developer Playlist. Here’s the word straight from The Coalition studio boss Rod Fergusson:

Booster packs and all their contents can also be acquired with in-game currency (Fergusson said the new approach was inspired by Hearthstone (opens in new tab)). So if the $49.99 / £39.99 Season Pass is a little too rich for your blood, you should be be able to get the same stuff for free by playing long enough. The Season Pass (opens in new tab) is also included with the game at a discount in Gears of War 4’s Ultimate Edition, which will retail for $99.99 / £79.99. Whichever package you choose, the full game will be released on October 11.
