The game, which features an unruly horse which flies around killing birds and innocent equestrian bystanders (ed. note: or quadstanders? lololol), was scheduled to launch for free this month, but was rejected by Apple for containing “mature content.”
The studio said it was surprised by the decision, but that would not give up on the project, tweeting: “We’re appealing, though (with a higher rating) and we’ll hopefully have good news for y’all soon!”
It’s possible to see how the whole ‘pushing horses into meat grinders’ would work against 4th & Battery. Still, one can easily find excessive amounts of violence (Dead Space (opens in new tab)), animal abuse (Angry Birds (opens in new tab)), and questionable material (5 Minutes to Kill Yourself (opens in new tab)) in the App Store already. We called Apple for a comment or explanation (perhaps 4th & Battery was pushing for too low of a rating?), but have yet to receive a reply. Perhaps they’re out grazing?
